Cookies
Our website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your end device with the help of the browser. They do not cause any damage. We use cookies to make our offer user-friendly. Some cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. They enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit. If you do not wish this, you can set your browser so that it informs you about the setting of cookies and you only allow this in individual cases. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of our website may be limited.
Web analysis
Our website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Inc. (“Google”). Cookies are used for this purpose, which enable an analysis of the use of the website by your users. The information thus generated is transferred to the provider’s server and stored there. You can prevent this by setting your browser so that no cookies are stored. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
Your IP address is recorded, but processed in our company exclusively in pseudonymised form. This means that only a rough localisation is possible. The relationship with the web analytics provider is based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission with the USA: “Privacy Shield”. The data processing is carried out on the basis of the legal provisions of § 96 para 3 TKG as well as Art 6 para 1 lit a (consent) and/or f (legitimate interest) of the GDPR. Our concern in terms of the GDPR (legitimate interest) is the improvement of our offer and our website. You are generally entitled to the rights of information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you can complain to the supervisory authority. COOKIE GUIDELINES
This Agreement has been drafted in both English and German. In the event of any discrepancy or disagreement between the English and German versions, the English version shall prevail.
Vienna, 11.11.2020
Our services use standard technologies to collect information about how they are used by individual computers connected to the Internet.
This information is collected through “cookies”. Cookies are small files containing letters and numbers that we place on your computer’s hard drive. These files enable us to differentiate you from other users of our services, to monitor the transmission of data on the service and to provide personalised content. This enables us to ensure the performance of our services and to improve the behaviour of the pages. Our cookies do not store any personal data, do not retrieve any personal data from your hard drive and, of course, do not contain any harmful computer code.
What cookies do we use for our services?
There are many different types of cookies. The cookies we set are called ‘first-party cookies’. Cookies set by our partners and suppliers are called ‘third party cookies’. The main cookies we use are described below:
Third-party cookies
These allow visitors to use our services to access content such as videos and advertisements provided by third parties. In addition, these cookies help us analyse our services.
Essential cookies
These are mandatory for the operation of the core functions of our services, including the shopping cart function and completion of a purchase. These cookies do not collect any information about you for marketing purposes or about your browsing behaviour. Essential cookies only store whether you have provided an email address but have not successfully completed your purchase. In such a case, we will automatically notify you by email to see if we can help you with your purchase.
Performance/Functionality Cookies
These cookies enable features such as the display of maps and videos.
Analytics/performance cookies
These allow us to track users of our services, their numbers and the path a user took to get to our website, including analysing whether a user clicked on one of our adverts to partner services or on one of our marketing emails, as well as analysing the pages the user visits and how they navigate our services. We use this information to create reports that help us improve the functionality of our services (for example, by ensuring that users find what they are looking for more easily) and to optimise marketing campaigns. These cookies do not collect any personal information that could be used for identification purposes. The information collected is completely anonymised and is only used to improve our services.
One of the analytics tools that our services use is Google Analytics. To learn more about Google Analytics, visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. Our services also use Universal Analytics (also known as “User ID”), which is part of the Google Analytics service. Universal Analytics is a cookie that allows us to analyse users’ visits to our Services across devices to understand how a user searches for and books flights and holidays. For example, if you view one of our marketing emails first on your mobile phone and then also on your laptop, this will be counted as one user and not two…. This cookie also only collects anonymised data, but if you book a flight, or log in to your account, it can link usage to your account. Again, however, no personal information is transmitted to Google that could enable Google to identify you.
Third-party/targeting cookies
These cookies are used by social networking websites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.), who may use the information about your visit to provide personalised advertising to you on these services. Third-party cookies such as these are set by a domain other than the one visited by the user. Third-party vendors and/or advertisers, which are carefully selected by us, may thus use information about your visit to deliver ads that may be of interest to you. For more information about the different types of cookies, please visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
How often will this policy be updated?
We reserve the right to change this Cookie Policy depending on service changes or for organisational, regulatory or legal reasons. Therefore, please check this policy regularly. The date at the beginning references when the policy was last amended.
Where can I go if I have questions?
If you have any questions regarding this policy or Kognitiv’s use of cookies, please contact us by email at legal@kognitiv.com.
How can you control or delete cookies used for our services?
Browsers usually accept cookies automatically. When you access our services, we assume that you agree that cookies may be set to improve your online experience. If you prefer not to receive cookies, you can change your browser settings to receive a notice when a cookie is about to be set. Similarly, you can delete cookies from your hard drive via the browser settings.
Please note that refusing or subsequently deleting cookies from your hard drive (including Essential Cookies), may affect the function of our sites and may result in you being unable to use our services effectively or only in a limited way. This also applies if your browser is set so that it generally does not accept cookies.
